LIRAN partnered with 50 experts across biology, dermatology, clinical medicine, and advanced materials science to define men’s skin research standards, identify the drivers of skin concerns, and validate their distinct differences. We are likely the first consumer brand built on systematic foundational research into men‘s skin – research that confirms significant structural and functional differences in men’s skin.

To achieve this, we sourced from leading global databases (including CNKI, PubMed, Web of Science, and others), referencing over 20,000 patents, papers, conference proceedings, books, and professional reports. We compiled the findings to rigorous academic standards, integrating 10 skin physiology dimensions, more than 20 physiological and biochemical indicators, and over 5,000 skin-related targets. We used only authoritative and credible data, prioritizing studies from the past five years, conducted in-depth analysis of more than 200 key research works, and had the results reviewed by multidisciplinary experts – all of which culminated in the White Papers of Men‘s Skin Health Care.

Our proprietary active ingredient, “Lishuqing,” has been published in the SCI-indexed journal Molecules, and the LIRAN research team has also published findings in the authoritative journal China Cosmetics. Furthermore, LIRAN became the first men’s brand in nearly 28 years to help establish industry group standards for styling sprays, co-developing the Group Standard for Hair Styling Aerosols and, for the first time, introducing standardized requirements for hold strength and drying speed.

Pioneering Third-Party Efficacy Testing with 100% Male Participants
LIRAN requires all efficacy testing to be conducted with 100% male participants, delivering comprehensive, verifiable, and quantitative assessments. Conventionally, skincare efficacy testing has defaulted to female participants, with only limited male participation. As a brand dedicated to men, LIRAN conducts efficacy testing solely with male participants – despite longer recruitment timelines and higher costs.
Creating a Real Men’s Personal Care Experience — Offline
LIRAN’s first limited-time pop-up experience landed at UpperHills, Shenzhen. It offered a premium grooming experience, showcasing LIRAN‘s complete personal care lineup and bringing products to life through real-world usage scenarios. We welcomed 30,000+ guests to our first physical space, and more immersive touchpoints are coming soon.
